Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Programme

Introduction

Lusa’s Entrepreneurship and Business Development Programme endeavours to build capacity amongst 100% Black Owned Enterprises/Small Businesses.

This program endeavours to empower entrepreneurs with essential skills to enable growth into successful, sustainable entities.

The Process

Entrepreneurship development interactive, face-to-face training will take the form of 10 full days from 09h00 till 15h00 sessions over a period of 2 weeks.

The sessions will focus on practical applications to ensure the entrepreneurs can implement their learnings effectively.

Program Content

The following essential skills will empower the entrepreneurs to enhance their business operations and growth. Financial Management: recording income and expenses and managing payments, cash flow statements:

• Sales techniques, product and services costing and pricing.
• Financial governance- personal and business finances. Financial planning and saving.
• Marketing Strategies- traditional and social media marketing.
• Customer Care and strategies to ensure repeat business.
• Business growth – scale up and strategic planning.
• Contracts and legal matters.
• Personal Mastery.

Measure of Success: Monitoring and Evaluation

Monitoring business operations and growth will take place as a pre-programme and post-training evaluation. Additional M&E will be done at 2-month, 4-month and 6-month interval with follow up and evaluation of participants submitting evaluation reports and cash flow statements.

This will enable evaluation of:

• Integration and implementation of learnings
• Progress of business growth
• Profitability
