Jaco was a man with a generous heart, someone whose presence and quick wit could brighten any gathering. He had a natural ability to make people feel seen, heard and valued. Conversations with him were never superficial. He showed a genuine interest in every person he met.
But what truly set Jaco apart was not only his personality. It was his actions.
He consistently went the extra mile for those he mentored and uplifted. He believed in people, often long before they believed in themselves. His guidance was never loud or self-promoting. It was humble, patient and rooted in a heart that reached out in love.
As a generous supporter of the Abigail Foundation, Jaco made a tangible difference in community development. Through LUSA, he touched the lives of many women, enabling them to grow into successful entrepreneurs. His dream of making a difference became a reality when he donated funds to train 24 Black women entrepreneurs in the LUSA Enterprise Development Programme in 2024 and 2025. He also funded four students to complete the NQF Level 5 Community Development accredited course in 2024, investing in leaders who will continue uplifting others.
He was always responsive, always willing and always present. Yet his quiet generosity created a legacy far greater than words can capture.
Jaco’s legacy is not only in what he gave financially. It lives in the empowered women who now stand taller, in the students who are equipped to serve their communities, and in every life touched by his belief in their potential. His impact will continue to multiply through the people he invested in.
LUSA expresses its deepest gratitude for Jaco’s extraordinary contributions and the trust he placed in community development. We honour the legacy he leaves behind and commit to carrying forward the vision he so passionately supported.
We also extend our heartfelt sympathy to his beloved wife Anelle, his sons Juven and Jacob, and his extended family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
A great heart has gone quiet, but his legacy will speak for generations.
Rest peacefully, Jaco. Your difference lives on.
